Working with a Licensed Realtor, Part 3: Seller’s Subagent
In previous installments of this topic, we have been discussing the question: Who Does Your Realtor Represent When You Are the Buyer? We discussed the Presumed Buyer’s Agent and then we talked about a Buyer’s Agent with a written representation agreement. In our final installment, we’ll talk about the Seller’s Subagent cooperating with the Sellers Agent.
Although a Seller’s Subagent can help a buyer with buying or renting a property, they are loyal to the seller. That means the agent works to ensure what is best for the seller, including during negotiating. If an agent is a Seller’s Subagent, while they are working with a buyer, they are gathering information to help the seller. In essence, although the reputable agent will ensure that they provide a buyer with all the information they need to make an informed decision, at the end of the day they work for the seller.
